John has over 35 years of diverse experience in the energy industry including structured financing, M&A, multi-commodity trading and marketing experience, financial evaluation, project field engineering, reserve estimation, and operational supervision (frac & horizontal technology). He possesses a diverse background and the ability to learn and adapt to any situation quickly.
John has had the benefit of seeing the energy industry from many different angles and consequently has friends, colleagues and acquaintances in all sectors of the industry. He is a self-starter and highly motivated, excelling in startup situations. John has extensive experience supporting high net worth individuals with non-publicly traded, or privately held, investments. He understands the challenges unique to the ownership of assets for which no liquid market exists. John’s experience as an engineer and then as a crude oil trader and energy marketer have honed his strong natural analytical abilities and helped to create in him an objective oriented, pragmatic approach to business challenges.
His experience as a Business Executive has developed his abilities to recognize situations that require special expertise, identify and engage other professionals who possess the required expertise and discipline, and manage complex initiatives involving collaboration across disciplines. John is based in Houston, and he draws on the strength of his extensive network to across Texas and the oil and gas industry to attain good results for the companies that he runs and consults.
